Went garage saleing with the wife yesterday, i bought 290 wheat pennies, I never buy coins, but I thought that maybe I would get lucky and get a good one, (i didn') would it hurt them to run them tru my tumbler to clean them?
Thanks Greg

I've run a few bad ones through a tumbler before, but I didn't like the results. It cleans them, but it seems to ruin them. If yours are even half decent I wouldn't do it.

thanks Bud, that is what I wanted to hear! I thank you for being my friend!

I use a Easyoff brand called "Bam". I havent had any problem's with the coins cleaning up very well. I just drop them in for a minute and they should have a good shine.

I thought that a good shine was a no no. I read somewhere that collectors shy from coins that are too clean.

PostFatal,

That is true if your going to resell your coin's.   I myself when it comes to coin's I am going to keep for myself or put back into circulation  it is fine to clean them.

The coin's I have to sell I "don't" clean.   It depend's on what your plan's are for the coin's. Key Date coin's I definately don't clean.

  I hope this help's.       Rhubarb
