My NOX 600 would have been great if I was say 30-50 and wanted to learn. But when books are written so you know how to use the Equinox, vs detectors that are just as capable that are more or less plug and play with little learning curve. That is why I went with the Max. I have used my Whites M6 for 10 years and more than likely will keep.

How has the new detector been treating you?

You can't go wrong with either the White's M6 or the Garrett AT Pro. I've used the m6 and it finds the good stuff. I currently have an AT Pro and love it. It has also found the good stuff. Both detectors have a short learning curve.
