Hey everybody out there in MD-Land.I hit big yellow,14K, yesterday :shock: out at a park in an uppity-high falutin' area Sunday and will probably take care of reimbursement of my start-up costs.
I have been using a food scale but it rounds off to the next whole number. What's a good digital scale that's accurate and relatively low-cost? Around $30 or so,I'm guessin'?

Ebay. They work well and are inexpensive. I've bought scales from $6-$15 there. They are usually FS too and fast delivery.

What resolution will you require? martin

Be sure to order from a USA seller and not China, etc. or ship time will be horrendous.

Lastly, in all of my research on buying digital scales on the internet, I have never ever found a place as rock solid on pricing as ebay has been. I generally see just about a 100% markup elsewhere when all the final costs are included. You should at least see the item you feel like buying and play around in Ebay. I bet you find a price with FS for half the cost, AND from a US power seller to boot.

I am just a buyer there, so I have no vested interest. I have three sets from there even though I really only needed 1, maybe 2. Why pay 2X?

If you want more accuracy there's the MiniPro-100:

But it's more than 10x as much, but also does linear calibration with two weights if you have'em.

Either way you go, see if it has support for a calibration weight and how to calibrate it and pick up a decent weight. Never use your hands on the weight, always tweezers.
