I guess if I'm going to get excited about a Lincoln penny, it might as well be one from the first year!

I went back to the construction site from last week and got a few more keepers. A 1909 wheat cent, 1899 Injun, a gold or gold plated bracelet, .58 minnie, a couple musket balls, suspender buckle, some K9 vaccine tags, and a few other things that I could use some help with. The oval/ wreath thing had me fooled when I saw it in the clump. Then I thought for sure it would have a big ol' fat US or CS on it, but no luck.

Don't know much info on the 1909 other that it was the fist year for the Lincoln cent.

Thanks. Don't see anything now, but I'll give it a closer look. It doesn't have a mint mark on it. Is there a 1909 VDB without a mint mark?

Those 1909's always get me excited. I have found two of them but the were both just regular 1909.
