Default Gold Coins in the Ground

To any of you that have found a gold coin in the ground....
What do they usually come up as? Nickel, Pull tab, iron???

I've had small hammered gold I.D. just into the iron I.D. segment. Other gold coins register anywhere depending more on thickness than size.

My friend Martin found a Gold 1945 2 1/2 Peso in a ballfield in our hometown, a week ago, it was 2 1/2 inches deep and read as a ring/pulltab on his program he was using on his DFX at the time and read as a nickel on my SOV/GT with the Patrick meter.
