So this is something I found yesterday. One of my coolest finds lately I think.
At first I thought it was a container for pencil leads but it turns out to be a lipstick container! Did some research and I think it's probably from the 1920's or 30's. It's only two inches long and not round but more of an oblong/oval shape, which indicates it an early lipstick. The Armand Co. started in 1916, on the decline in the 1930's and was finally bought out in 1950.
It actually smelled sort of sweet like a faint rose fragrance when I opened it. It was pretty much empty but I managed to dig out some tiny bits of black waxy tint with the Qtips- looks like it was sort of a plum shade of lipstick.
The case appears to be brass on the inside but I'm curious about the outside finish...Could it be copper plated? Or can brass look this red after being in the ground for so long?
I am curious if anybody else has found one similar to this!
