Found 3 of these on my property, wondering the age, rarity of them.

that mason jar lid is very old . hand engraved , zinc or pewter . at least 1850s.
 
they are pretty desireable. looks like they sell on ebay for $25 on up based on condition. I found one about a year ago that was pretty much destroyed except for the sun-moon-star and thought i saw them going for $70-80 at that time, but maybe i only saw a buy it now price.
 
After a cursory search on Ebay it looks like they actually sell for between $25 and $50. Some price them higher but they evidently don't sell for more. Condition and quality of the stamping (detail) seem to dictate how much they sell for.

I have found a few through the years but they were too corroded for my taste and I didn't save them. They are most likely from the golden years of fruit jar canning, about TOC but I could never ascertain exactly what dates.
