Default My First Reale

I've been digging for 22 years and dreaming of Spanish Silver all the while.

Yesterday's storm kicked this one up on a beach in RI. It was literally sitting under a layer of sand one grain deep. I just had to pick it up.

Who can tell me what exactly I have here?

Looks like a cookie from somewhere deep and getting tossed around knocked most of the crust off...probably not the only old target in that spot either, I hope you're back there hunting it today...

I wish I was but that whole work thing gets in the way.

And yeah, I'll be back, it's a small beach but it has produced over 80 silver coins thus far so I keep going back!

I like the build up on it. Do you plan to clean it in any way?

Taking a long time to consider and will practice with common silvers first. We'll see, I may just leave it alone.
