Equinox 600 wireless headphones

Any bluetooth enabled headphones should work fine. I've paired a couple of different pairs successfully. I got a set that I think is from the company that makes the 600 headphones and they worked. See if you agree that the are the same maker.

Although most any bluetooth headphones will work with the Equinox, you will get the best peformance with Low Latency AptX Bluetooth V4.2 headphones. If you use regular bluetooth headphones there is a small delay between where the coil is hitting a target and when you will hear it through the headphones. It might not bother some folks, but it's noticeable to me and bothers me... I also don't want to spend a lot on a set of wireless low latency headphones. If you don't want to spend a lot, then there is a solution that I posted earlier today. See this thread: https://metaldetectingforum.com/showthread.php?t=259607

You can get this wireless adapter and use ANY wired headphones/earbuds you want AND you will have a low latency connection between the Equinox and the headphones. The low 35 to 40 millisecond delay will be imperceptible and you'll be hearing you target as you are actually on top of it and not after you've gone over it.

I am wondering the same thing, basically, what is the "Dual 40mm Drivers for aptX Stereo", aptx being the operative word. There are a class if AptX HPs in a key word search, and these ain't in those results. Worry some that the term might be loosely used for both of us types HPs. Lowest latency is the goal with wireless and detectors.

They are cheap "Made in China" headphones, but they're not bad. You can find them under various brand names on ebay and Amazon... Brand names like "Crabot", "Sound Intone" and others... I'm actually disappointed that the Equinox 600 didn't ship with some better headphones for the $649 they charge for it...

THey have to be aptX with V4.2 Bluetooth in order to be low latency. Anything that is V4.1 or below is not going to be low latency. The headphones you listed are not low latency, even though they say aptX.

You can get Bluetooth V4.1 aptx low latency headphones , aptx low latency is not exclusive to Bluetooth V4.2 .

Trond TD-BH01 Headphones

I just received the Trond TD-BH01 Headphones, and I am here to say "These are exceptional." Crisp tones, if there's any delay, I don't hear it. Of course there is 30-40ms. I got lucky and caught them on a Lightning Sale from Amazon for $20 off, total $47, tax-title-liscense. Heck, they have an 18 month warranty too.

I am all set now ;-)

I bought the Miccus SR-71 Stealth Low Latency headphones. They are the same model and brand that comes with the Equinox 800 and work great on my 600. I think I paid under $70 which I feel is going to be much less than what Minelab is going to charge for them IF they ever get to the point where they want to sell us some accessories.

I use my sons Beats Studio 2 headphones. High end, not cheap but they work well and sound soooo nice. You can have wired headphones plugged in and still have a second person wearing wireless headphones...just FYI if you want to have someone along with you. Here is what I have found and can confirm because i have both wired and wireless connected at the same time. Normal Bluetooth headphones do indeed have a delay...BUT when you hear a target if you slow down you can just as easily find it. I will make a video soon to demonstrate.
