I drive a small, but fun 4 banger hatch back. It fits my gear well enough, but there are times when I would like to have (even need) a 4x4 or higher clearance vehicle to get to a detecting site. What do you think is the perfect vehicle for the metal detectorist?

Well i like you Okie have a small Citroen so the digging things go in the back and the detector behind the seats.Wouldnt mind a Landrover, then again a Ferrari would be nice too

Jeep Cherokee 4x4, plenty of room, good gas milage. I do know that if you plans to go to the beaches (or on them), you'd better have aluminum wheels. Otherwise you will be buying a new set of wheels every season.

I got this a couple weeks ago, and it works pretty good, it gets me back in the woods

Small camper that gets up narrow farm tracks and tight gateways. (not a great problem in the States but here!)
A beach strips and you can stay until its been cleared or find a good farm site and camp on the field for as long as it produces.
