Buying a better search coil

The total cost from Minelab for the coil & headphone conversion to me was $50.00, I figured that I got a great deal IMHO. H.H.:-)

Regarding the pinpointing I don't think you would have found it any worse if you had been using the 1000 coil Excaliber. It just a case that the 800 is only really 7 inches so its quite a step up to the 12.25" of the SunRay.

What is the actual size of the sunray coil compared to the regular excal 1000, does it create more drag when underwater? And did i hear somebody right when they said that minelab would convert the coil for you thus meaning that the warranty would not be voided? And i believe someone said the coil is lighter?
