I found these two small rocks (maybe rocks?) which ding on the silver/copper setting on my detector. I'm a bit confused- anyone have an idea what they are? The dime is included for scale (found that in my yard as well).

First put a magnet to the rock like items. Could be a number of possible minerals/materials.

Also, do either of the items scratch easily, are they heavy for their size, etc.

IF it can be picked up and held quite firmly with a rare earth magnet, then it's likely not Hematite. In that case, it 'could' be a Meteorite (especially if it's HEAVY for it's size), but I wouldn't think that they would show anywhere near the 'Silver Range' on a detector. This is most likely a Hot Rock and possibly could possibly have Cu or Ag inside?

I found some like that in a playground once but they were next to spent fireworks tubes. It was molten something that was likely shot out.
