I'm all about buying Americam, but sometimes these China products just blow me away with how cheap they can be. I have a tablet computer from China that is simply awesome.

For the life of me I can't find a price on this Garrett knockoff.

Edit: Wow...they even have knockoff Bounty Hunters.

from what I've found, they do have a volume control.
FOB Price: US $ 130 - 150
(some may be cheaper)

here's the specs I found

P/P

I have a 3010II

The P/P button, when pressed lites up the "eye" but no sound is heard when metal is passed in front of the search coil, Nor is any tone heard.

Its brand new out of the box.

Any Ideas?

I don't think, you are going to find much help here about that detector. If I were you, I would take it across the street where they make those Garrett copies and see what they say..

Hey, I have your friend's stolen credit card, but for some reason the P.I.N. doesn't work, any suggestions?

Sure, go ahead and keep feeding Chinese industry. We are a debtor nation to them so what the hey, buy this POS.

In the pic showing board, at the bottom, the two wires on the left and the last wire to the far right look to have bad solder connections. At least that's how it looks to me.

I can vouch for their customer support - they reply to emails & follow up with a phone call -

why is it good that our manufacturing industries can produce in asian countries and we buy with no qualms, yet we are frowned upon & ridiculed for buying from China directly - confuses the !!!! out of me
