Found this in a field behind a church. Everything is new to me and I have no idea what this could be. Any ideas? I was thinking maybe something to do with an old wooden barrel.

It does look like a Tap Valve.

That’s what I thought once I saw it in the dirt but then saw that it was too small and not hollow.
