Looks like it was for a "big mouth" bottle which showed up in the 1960s and went at least into the 1980s... what does the print say?

Fine Beer - the graphics are pretty decent on it so I don't think it's real, real old. I just had never seen one like this before. Thanks for the help.

Those widemouth pulltab/tops were used from the 60s to around the 80s like Iggys said. Those bottles usually resembled barrels (as in beer barrel). I popped more than a few Mickey's ML's with those type tops. Now they use screwcaps. Don't recognize the red top though.

Ha, just found this Big Mouth Mickies pull top a couple of weekends ago. Brings back memories. Back to your tab, looks like the same coloring as the wide mouth Schmidt bottle also shown at Etsy and labled as a 1970's vintage which seems about right.
