Yeah... RTG makes a aluminum long handled scoop which drains dry sand faster than a waterscoop with holes drilled into it... mine gets used like once a year as I don't hunt the dry too often.
They make this scoop in a smaller 8 inch version, which I have and it works great in the dry sand or water. If you wanted you can easily change from a long handle to a short handle for dry sand hunting with just one bolt.
