So this Mexican silver dollar. Has a crust and bubble on it which doesn't seem right for silver. A bubble on the front and one on the rim. I figured it was pewter counterfeit but it passes the acid test for silver. Did old pewter have silver in it? Something seems off about it. All though where I rubbed the coin it reveals shiny metal on the high sharp edges of the coins details. I thought pewter flakes apart.
Has anyone ever seen a silver coin do this. As far as the bubble on it?
It was found in a farm field
Thoughts?

Never seen silver coming out of the ground like that. Like you said - looks like pewter. How did it read on your machine - and what machine were you using?

91 on at pro. But its big same as a silver dollar. I was surprised it tested good for silver but maybe it was silver coated or low percentage? Looks like someone cut it to check before. An when I scratch it with my finger it looks like silver under the crust. But it doesn't wash off it look like this fake
