I'm new to the hobby and on my second day out, I found this toasted copper in the woods in southeast Pennsylvania. Diameter is 28mm and it is thin, only about a mm thick. It looks to me like I can see the faint outline of a right facing bust, but maybe I'm seeing things...?

Yea not seeing much in terms of detail...try laying a flashlight(pointed towards the coin) on the table, with the lights off...any high areas will show first. Congrats on a nice oldie!

Did you try measure the width and weigh it and see what it matches up with?
