21mm Simon...I didn't have calipers so I used my daughters metric ruler. Its not perfectly round so this is as close as I could get.Hmmmmm!!!LOL!

Doug is right,its a Eddy 1st Penny London mint ,1272 - 1307.Now we gotta figure out how it go there.Did Edward know about America and just forgot to tell anyone?
Would a coin like that stay in circulation for 200 or 300 years and be used as legal tender??!?

Hi , this coin would have been used for a long time after the kings death and could have been brought over , an amazing find , even we struggle to find hammies, well done . http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_the_English_penny_(1154-1485)
