Large lid with 922 1/2 and odd brass pull?

Was just able to get some MDing done at the ranch and had numerous cool finds that will be posted soon. My father was out kicking around the old windmill site and found these 2 items.

The lid or cover is heavy iron I think (dad soaked it in vineger) with 922 1/2 and a emblem that is not very clear. The brass piece I thought was a drawer pull but does not operate right for that task. It is patented April 24, 1900.

i dont know about the top one but i think the bottom one to me looks like a chest lock type thing. but i like how old the top one is thats awesome to find, nice finds =D
