Pocket knife ID

Found this knife today near a mill site thats been long gone. Any help with ID and possible age would be great. Thanks!

I shared a picture of the knife over on a knife collecting site that I frequent. I feel sure someone there will come up with it's identity.
 
It looks very similar to a lot of the early Schrade Walden shields, only slimmer. It's nearly impossible most times to ID a knife by the shield alone. The only surefire way to ID it would be to clean the blades enough to read the maker's mark.
 
It’s so hard to ID antique knives sometimes unless the blades are cleaned up for ID. Several companies used the same shield logo and also same knife designs
