As someone who works in insurance, I can vouch for that. Can't tell you how many 6 and 7 figure claims I've seen where the claimant signed a waiver and then sued anyway. Then the insurer rolls over and tosses them 100k+ to make them go away b/c legal fees would be worse if they fought it.
