Got permission just today to hunt a church built in the 1830's. Pastor even walked me around the grounds a little (25+ acres) and said I could "have at it". It was a little cold today so I only detected for about an hour and I plucked out my oldest coin ever, this 1864 Indian Head. It was real cruddy when I found it and I couldn't even make out a date. After about 1/2hour of rubbing it with dish soap and a toothpick here's what she looks like. I still haven't cleaned the reverse fully but I'll work on that later. I think it's the copper/nickel version and not the bronze version and I don't see any "L" on the ribbon. It's gonna be an awesome summer at this spot!
