I took the pioneer 505 out for the first time, and I spent an hour trying to
figure the thing out. After an hour, I just gave up and turned the sensitivity to max and discrimination to medium. I found the target ID screen very jumpy, and several times it switched from iron all the way to $1 on the screen! I was also getting alot of inconsistent signals, even on the lowest possible sensitivity. If anyone has any tips on how to use it, feel free to share them, because I definitely have alot of questions about the machine.

I still found 72 cents, a 1959 d nickel, and the best find of the day, a 1945 wheat penny!

Congrats on your first hunt with the BH. There is a learning curve with any machine and I am sure if you are patient that you will figure it out. You should probably start with the sensitivity in a spot where the detector is stable and try with the discrimination to just accept nickels. Hopefully that will settle it down a little until you get enough experience with run wide open. I had a BH Time Ranger and it was a nice machine.
