HELP!

Notice the brass wing shaped piece on left- Any ideas?

More to follow...

Big mystery...

This thing is a flattened tube , hard to see in pic. Thought maybe a bayonet scabbard but haven't seen one like it. May be pollution, no idea.

I cant help with any ID's either, but like the finds. If you don't mind me asking I'm curious how you discovered the camp. Do you have a troopers diary, or is there an OR (official records) for post war action too?

Spent a LOT of time in the National Archives researching troop movement in the Indian Wars in the area that led me to battle sites and camps. The finds in this thread were a site I stumbled across after talking to locals.

Have another site (600 troopers for 12 days) that I have pinned down for Saturday, hope I'm right.
