I recognize the key, but don't know what it may have gone to. But, the threaded item I just can't picture its use since it has three thread pitches of different diameters. I'm assuming it is left over from the construction of my house, but I can't think of what it would be. Thanks for any help.

Looks like a Lag Bolt to Machine Thread, and is made for an Allen Wrench in the Machine Thread end. Might be for a Masonry Anchor?

Thanks. I'm not a residential construction guy, so I just don't have a clue and couldn't make out the reasoning for the multiple thread patterns.

For a glass insulator maybe. 1 thread for wood, other for insulator.

Ok I am not sure but it looks like an old locking mech for a vending machine. They have a bolt with that type pattern.
