I’m considering renting my wife out.
Get your minds out of the gutter. But she has the magic touch for coin roll hunting.
She has never shown any inclination towards metal detecting although she fully supports my efforts in it.
But several months ago I decided to try coin roll hunting half dollars. My first two boxes yielded exactly one ‘64 Kennedy half, each. Ok, not too bad but I was hoping for more, so I laid off for a bit.
Then I bought another box and I made the best tactical move of my life.
I invited her to sit down and join in. I didn’t expect her to say yes but she did and immediately started finding 40% and 90% silver coins. We found 5 ‘64s, a ‘53 and a ‘40. Also 18 40%coins, some proofs and NIC coins. She found most of them.
A few days later she urged me to buy another box and we found a ‘42 and a flawless ‘46 and 11 more 40% coins, another proof and 3 no FGs.
Wow.
Then I secretly bought 2 more boxes. Just for me. I wanted to find ALL the treasures in those boxes. Searched 2,000 coins. Found NADA. Zip. Zero.
Bought 10 rolls yesterday and split them with her. I found a ‘68 and she scored a very nice ‘55.
Bought 14 rolls today. I to.d a friend about her string of luck and he made the comment that she needed to find a Barber.
Not anymore.
This is her find tonight. A 1907 Barber half. I found another no FG.
She’s uncanny. I wonder how she might be with gold coins??
