I think I will buy one this spring. I own a 505 , used it all summer and fall. Found mostly coins. A few hot wheels cars , just seems to get to difficult to sort things out sometimes. I hope this will make things easier. Opinions are appreciated.

Yes, the Platinum is a good detector, but the MSRP is inflated. One dealer bought up many & sells for $299.95 new & used a good price is $200 or so.
 
I also have a Land Ranger Pro. In air tests, it gets a strong beep on a dime to 8" but silent at 9". It's pretty easy to use & accurately IDs my 5" deep dime in moderately mineralized ground. Some dealers sell them for under $300 new, a good value. They occasionally show up on used market, but looks like most are pleased.
