Looks to be a golf blazer button, based on the crossed clubs and ball on a tee.
...and possibly a thistle? (From the Scottish roots of the game).
Mid 20th century is my guess.

My search turned up: Brass Golf Forest Lake Crown Wreath Button

Looks like there is a few Forest Lake golf resorts in the US
