A short magnet fishing hunt due to my spring hook catching
on something and my magnet came off. Now I need to fish for
my magnet.
I had some small rare earth magnets (in finds pic, on right)
bundled them together with some silicone tape and wrapped them
in a clothes hanger and made a hook. Instead of taking off the spring
hook from the rope I had around, I left it on. (bad move)
Anyway, it is a relaxing pasttime, much like fishing. You feel the
little bites and pull things in. Meanwhile you enjoy the surroundings,
in this case, a lagoon. In the picture you can make out the back
of one of three manatees that were relaxing in there. (In the center
right of lagoon pic) I stayed clear of them, a mother can be ferocious
when protecting her baby. I didn't want to be mauled by a manatee.
It is kind of a creepy place these days with lots of dead iguanas
from the cold in between rocks and gnarly trees.
In the short time I experimented with magnet fishing, I found
lots of bottle caps, lots of fishing hooks, and a bicycle chain
and lock. The things I kept in pic. A bullet, some hooks, a key,
a chisel thing, and something with yellow on it, maybe
an engine part to a boat?
I'm going back to look for my magnet. If I can't find it,
I'll get another. It's a relaxing way to spend a few hours.
