Today's track, inspired by ring #136...

She is trying to shut us off up here.. I had to walk on ice to get to open water today... Hunted Local Beach for 3 hours, with the wind chill it was my coldest hunt ever... My detector shaft had about an inch of ice buildup around the shaft where the water kept adding layers like making an old fashioned candle. My waders also had a lot of ice buildup, they were quite the challenge to take off, I thought I was going to have to drive home in them!

Ring #136 is junk, also scored another junker bracelet putting me on a junker bracelet streak.

The best of the day was sterling #56, a hoop earing featuring fake ice, it does weigh a little bit for an earing though, at least... It also kept the skunk away!! I would have felt pretty foolish if I took a skunk on a day like today!

Notice the ice buildup near my control box, and on my waders... My damn boogie board weighed about 20 pounds as well...

Thanks for looking and good luck to all of ya!

Dang man. Congrats on the sterling. And on getting out, beating back ma nature for another day, if even just barely. Don't turn into a Popsicle Iceman.

Don't turn into a Popsicle Iceman.

Thanks man!!

I just see this as pre-season training.. I picked up MD as something to do in my off season.. The real game is about to begin, I was super happy to walk on ice today  felt like home again!!

It was dark when I took those pictures...

Here is another picture of my waders after I got home, after a half hour truck ride...

The motor that pushes my boat is actually called an Ice Scratcher!!

Im a determined person...... BUT thats nuts. Night hunters and Popcycle people baffle me. My tolerance for the cold ended when i moved to Fl. Congrats on the finds.

Getting back to the inspired ring #136...

Nice hunt!

With this November weather you could be out on the ice sooner then later.

Grats on the ring. I am surprised that any metal detector could work in such extreme temperatures and conditions

I agree with the above. I truly love this hobby. But man that is pushing it to the extreme. But I guess age has a lot to do with hunting like that. If I were 20 years younger I just might do the same. I can recall fishing the salmon river January 20 years ago.

Sweet, ya crazy bastid!

The snow machine is running full blast up here, another hunt ain't looking good. :(
