Um, why didnt they take it all?

Makes no sense to me, unless there was a ton of it and they couldnt carry that much.

Why would you keep 3 million in gold in a display case?

Put some fake !!!! in there and keep the real stuff in a vault.

I'd keep an eye on the refineries? If they see someone send large amounts in esp in nugget shapes? But somehow I doubt they'll ever recover it.

Maybe once it's melted down they will reinvest it back in to the local economy by building some cash for gold stores...

I wonder what possessed these people to place $3 million in gold on display inside of a courthouse where all of the criminals in that county pass by. It really doesn't make sense to me at all.....
