On a 5 hour outing yesterday i played with the gold setting. At first i would find a target in field 2, then switch to g2. This field isn't iron laden, but it has loads of coke and i was running all metal.
After a while i set the iron bias on 0, and the tone break to 0 to disc out the iron, i was then just digging everthing that was a solid hit. I was surprised at the small stuff coming up at depth, and switching back to Field 2 there was a few that it couldn't hit.
It was kinda like the pitch on the Deus, less the iron tone. I might give it another bash next time, and use the screen ID to be more selective.
If anyone else is using G2, could you share your findings good or bad, as i have only a few hours using it.
Here's some of the targets dug using both modes (the intact cap badge and 2 large buttons below it were dug by my mate and his Deus)

I've only fiddled with gold mode a few short times in my yard. It's like using a totally different detector. I'll have to try it one day at the park.

I'm considerating trading my GMT with some other gear to get a nox 800. Question, in gold modes does it have a threshold hum?

Yes and it's adjustable for pitch and volume.
