we have had about 6 weeks without any decent rain in Atlanta. Most hunt areas rock hard a few inches down to the even dryer and harder clay layer. Hunted a new permission two weeks ago and found a silver 1964 quarter about 6" down in the clay. Hard to dig, but the clay preserved the coin well. came out bright, bright silver without just a little bit of clay stuck to it.
now that Michael has doused us real good I will continue to hunt that 1.5 acre permission with some much easier digging tomorrow morning. Plus the temps will be down to mid 70's instead of mid 90's two weeks ago with high humidity.
Hopefully will get some good signals a little deeper.
