Went door knocking last weeknd....was rough going for a while. Was getting discouraged when I met an awesome couple who own an incredible looking property. Long story short...they totally understand what
I do and are thrilled for me to have them detect their property and already got me a referral to their friends 1780 property.
I cherry picked the front lawn and side of house for about 2 hours. After about 10 minutes I already had a suspender clip, 1917 wheatie and 1883 IH.... totally un-hunted and virgin ground. Dead smack in the middle of the lawn I get a slammin 94-95 on the DEUS...pop the plug...pinpointed a pull tab...square nail....then COPPER!! Sweet 1802 Draped Bust....preserved in well packed soil at around 7 inches. I then found 3 more wheats and 2 more IH's and get another 94-95.....shallow about 4 inches.....crisp 1831 Matron...cleaned up great! I dig a few flat buttons and a then a cool 2 piece US General Service button circa 1830.
It was late in the day and I'm planning on going back this weeknd….so I start sweeping towards my car to "save some for later" and get a real smooth but jumpy 92-94....1821 Half Reale….my first 1800's Reale...now I need a cob...
Im already putting together a sample of finds to present to the owners eventually...this place seems loaded....they own 20 acres....Cant wait to hit this again.
Sorry so long.....Im pretty excited that my Spring is heating up!! HH!
