Started with a Razor Back trenching shovel from Home Depot-$30. Lowes has the same shovel but a different brand name.
Did these changes to it:
1. Cut the blade down from 11 inches long to 8 inches. It is 5 inches wide.
2. Cut about 14 inches off the fiberglass handle.
3. Cut teeth into the sides of the blade.
4. Angled the blade narrower toward the front to give the teeth a better bite.
5. I like the angle from the handle to the blade, you do not have to bend over as far to lift the plug out as compared to the handle being straight with the blade.
6. Connection of the handle to the blade also gives you a good spot for your foot to push from.
7. Sharpened the front and sides of the blade and it is just like cutting butter.
