Had a good hunt today. 1964 jefferson, buffalo,1902 V,Shield Nick. Silver rosie, one wheat cent. Ive beat this park to death,so has everyone else. Also found a brass ring off the old Carousel that was here . Thanks for looking happy hunting. Equinox is getting it done.

Very, very nice. Just the shield and V in the same hunt is something to crow about and the buff is a bonus. You'd be my hero if that jefferson was a war nickel. The Equinox is a proven nickel hound straight out of the box, and even better with a few tweaks.

Old nickels from a hunted out park sounds like a great day to me. One day I drove about an hour to a small town to detect a park that looked pretty good on the map. In continual use pre 1900. I figured it had been beaten to death, but it was fairly large and one good find can make an entire hunt. I figured I could score some nickels left behind by others. Nope. The dirt was so quiet it was spooky. Somebody must live across the street and has been hitting it daily for a decade. He was probably watching and laughing at me from his front window! But, you can't know until you get out there and try.

Thank you! I was really surprised by the Shield, wheat, rosie. They came from an area of the park i call the Dead Zone. The dirt is so saturated with god knows what, the equinox is the only detecter out of the 7 i own that could ever get a repeatable signal from this area.

I like old nickels and the Equinox is a nickel killer. Not sure i have ever seen a quadfecta posted. Nice feat for sure!. I have yet to dig a Shield nickel- maybe someday.
