I've found 11 out of 20 - still got some hunting to do!

I'd give a lot to find a Barber coin - they've eluded me for a long time. Hopefully this is my year!

Not sure if I'd even recognize a steel cent if I found one - no doubt they're mostly rust by now.

The half dollars and dollars are obviously the hardest to find. I have 1 walker and that's it. Ive found 39 seated silvers but only 1 Barber quarter too. I have found a seated half and gold dollar but wrong century I hunt older sites thus the older coins

I only metal detect in my yard ... but my coins, so far, are one V-nickel, five Indian head pennies, 13 wheat pennies, one silver Roosevelt dime, and a pocket full of recently minted quarters, dimes, and pennies. My hobby is detecting Civil War artifacts and the coins kinda get in the way. I think I've found most of them, I hope.

I glad this thread has had a good response. It's fun to see the more experienced hunters that have just about completion. Its also interesting to see the ones that elude even the best of diggers. Thanks. Keep posting.

I'm pretty much missing everything big - never found a half or dollar coin of any kind Older quarters elude me also - heck I only just got my first silver GWs a couple weeks ago. I'd love to see a SLQ or Barber quarter pop out for me at some point - then I can dare to dream about dollar coins!

But here's my checklist for 20th century stuff - exactly half way there:

Indian Head Penny. X
Wheat Penny. X
Steel Penny. X
Barber V Nickel. X
Buffalo Nickel. X
War Nickel. X
Barber Dime. X
Mercury Dime. X
Silver Rosie. X
Barber Quarter.
Liberty Quarter
Silver GW. X
Barber Half
Liberty Half.
Franklin Half.
Silver Kennedy
Morgan Dollar
Peace Dollar
Ike Dollar.
Susan B Anthony.

You never know - all the steel cents that I've seen posted, including my own steel cent find, have all come out in a spill of some kind. Otherwise, you're right, a steel cent signal by itself would never inspire anyone to dig. Mine came out with 4 other wheaties, but the presence of the steel cent dragged the signal down to an iffy tone that bounced between high tone and iron grunt. Don't be afraid to dig the occasional iffy signal!

Great thread. You could almost make a tally sheet to see all the stats of each coin.
I gotten most of those but nothing too older than the barbers. Still waiting on my first seated and older.

When I started this hobby I never thought I would find as many of these things that I did.
It just happened slowly....one here, one there.
It eventually adds up.

For those missing any never give up, never surrender!

Didn't see this thread until now. Thanks for posting it. I feel pretty good about the number of X's on my list:

Indian Head Penny. X
Wheat Penny. X
Steel Penny.
Liberty V Nickel. X
Buffalo Nickel. X
War Nickel. X
Barber Dime. X
Mercury Dime. X
Silver Rosie. X
Barber Quarter. X
Liberty Quarter X
Silver GW. X
Barber Half.
Liberty Half.
Franklin Half.
Silver Kennedy
Morgan Dollar.
Peace Dollar X
Ike Dollar.
Susan B Anthony X

I'm lacking in the silver halves and a couple dollars, but that just gives me goals. I suppose a wheat spill with a rusty steely could appear one of these days too. I'm on it!
