Default Cleaning an 1880 IH

I went looking for a cellar hole I recently got permission to hunt and after locating the house foundation I began to check it out and as I was lookin around I found an 1880 IH just sitting there....... The detail is crisp and not a sign of wear on it, but it has some type of green specks stuck to it, and I was wondering if I should clean it and if so how to.....
Thanks
Justin

You really shouldn't clean something that old as it will ruin any "collector value" that it may have. But if you must clean it, I believe letting it sit in olive oil is the least abrasive.

Olive oil will help, but it will take time to work.

you might want to try to use a toothpick to get the green specks off if that doesn't work soak for a week and try again.... a toothpick will not scratch the coin btw
