Hello Group I keep finding these huge washers at about 1 foot.
Are these possibly markers for survey crews?
I just put them back in the hole and cover them back up...

Around here property markers are usually a stake with a large washer on top. There is also orange marker tape on them too.

without a picture i don't think so... only stuff we use is rebar / grizzlies / hubs, monuments, and control points (large nails)

may not be the same for other states though

Hello Glennz,
I do not see how a photo could help???
Just really crusty washers about 3" in dia. with a 3/4" hole.
I always see a guy holding a stick and wonder how they know where to stand???
These are found in not too trashy areas.

If they are free floating and not attached to anything I wouldn't think they are property line markers.

OK guys,
I guess it is the luck of the draw that I just keep finding these giant washers.
Giant washer near the surface I would say that a riding mower lost them from the deck attaching hardware. They are quite corroded so maybe they just sank in the mud as the snow melts, it makes the dirt quite squishy,
Since the warm-er weather, it is hit and miss at weather your are digging in permafrost or your digger goes straight to the handle in soft mud.:D
