Unfortunately, this item is not in the greatest shape.
It is about the same diameter as a penny.

I can make out a small cross, some word in the middle and a date at the bottom, which could be 1907.

Does anybody recognize this?
Perhaps a fraternal pin?

Thanks!

Perhaps a Christian Sunday School pin? Google "antique sunday school pin", there are several with the red cross and a similar blue background. I can't find an exact match to yours though.

I read it as 957, without the 1 in front, for a couple of reasons: The 5 is pretty well centered, which would mean it would be uncentered with a 1 at the beginning. Also, there appears to be some remaining blue enamel that stretches uninterrupted across where the 1 would have done so.
And I don't see many church pins with a date, which I speculate is because they wouldn't want them to "expire".
The only thing I can think of that 957 would relevance for is the 957th paragraph from the Catechism of the Catholic Church... but that's a stretch, and I may (as always) be wrong about the way I see the numbers anyway.
