I’ve had my eye on a fallen in deserted house for a while now. After a little research I found out that it was built in the late 1800s. The house sits on about 4 or 5 acres and most is too overgrown to hunt. Behind the the house though is a very small back yard where the grass and weeds were mashed down enough from winter that it was swingable. I started hitting wheat after wheat and kept expecting a silver rosie or merc to show up but no luck. I was even hoping for a war nickel or even a buff so I was digging mid conductors too. The few mid conductor signals that came were either foil or small aluminum. I don’t think I dug one pulltab which was nice. I was gridding the small area and getting towards the end when the little bracelet showed up. I got out my magnifier and saw 18k.... my first 18k, a whole 1.5 grams! Even with no silver that made my day!

Nice....always nice to find gold. There's an old homesite across the street from me that I REALLY want to go detect, but the one time I took a walk back there the ground was covered with beer cans (kids used it for parties) so it would be tough to detect around that.

Congrats on the hunt brother!!! You are on the gold this year!!

We have to get up, and go hit it together soon.
