I spent a couple hours today at a patch of woods on a corner in the country which used to be the home of a schoolhouse.. Lots of fence wire about, and I only got a few good signals (I can't imagine I'm the first to have detected there). But I got a great looking 1860 Indianhead outta the ground - best shape for a fatty I've dug (Still no flying eagle!!!). The button with the eagle is iron backed and probably not military, but I like it. And I'm not quite sure what the badge is (I posted that over on Help ID My Finds if you know...)

Later, decided to go down the road to an old mid-century farm dump with the hopes of finding an ACL soda or two (I don't need cork top embossed bottles to keep me entertained...). Found a few goodies. I really like that "Savoy" glass car wash bottle - the image of the front end of the old 50's car is pretty awesome. And the Ball Ideal (Patent 1908) jar will be great for holding finds....even still has the wire on it. Now I just need to find the glass lid that fits it (I've only found Atlas clear glass lids - need an aqua one now).

And I did find two ACL's like I'd hoped. Lettin' em dry for a while before washing..

That fatty is in tremendous shape - nice find!! And that dump spot looks like a veritable gold mine for glass!! Very cool bottles, especially the car wash one!

I think I got the ID on your badge, and that’s a sweet find too! I posted it in the ID thread, but I’ll put it here, too. Looks like it might be the head badge for an 1890s bicycle, mounted on the front support below the handlebars? Found this on a Google search:

Nice hunt!

Thanks man! I see that the Devon is a bicycle model...very cool

Fun hunt on a great day! You see any Morels on your walkabouts yet? Nice work Teo, I enjoy your posts!

No shrooms found yet....though I promised the farmer who owns the dump I’d share if I did....heading to the UP with my dad in a couple weeks to hunt agates and he is muuuch better at locating morels than I....fingers crossed. Steak and shrooms on the campfire sounds wonderful
