Still have this same trowel, The V in the blade is almost flat now.

LOVE it.

I still have a couple of Wilcox diggers I've had since I started detecting in 1983.
They're every bit as good as the newer brand diggers.

I use both. The Lesche is overkill for a lot of targets, plus the Wilcox looks less...uhhh...threatening....if you're hunting in an area where perception might matter.

The digging action is totally different too. With the Wilcox you don't use a sawing action. You make a plug by stabbing the ground, wiggle a bit, remove, stab again, etc...

For shallow targets i use the tiny wilcox with the green handle. The blade is only 1 1/2” wide x 5”? It outperforms a srcewdriver by ton without making any more of a mess. You can get down 6-7” pretty easily if you have to. Looks like a toy too so it’s great to show “concerned” people that you’re not going to tear up the place.
