of my feet so I modded it with a bit of PCV and some wire ties. I wear flip flops while detecting at the beach and they have medium thick soles but the arced top ridge on the scoop was killing me. It was very uncomfortable to walk for days after a long day of beach detectin'. I now have used the modded RTG on 2 trips to beach and no more sore balls (of my feet).

Odd, my flat-bottom RTG has never caused any foot pain for me.

On a side note, you need to ditch the flippy floppies for detecting. Get yourself a pair of scuba diving boots with the hard soles.
