On my really old sites i usually run my detectors iron tone break to start spitting on a rusty nail, and dig everything else, this gives the detector quite a bit of leeway say between the nail and a mid conductor coin so as it can hit it clean, but you also dig all the foil etc as a consequence.
The disc/tone break works different on the Nox, the real iron disc is the Iron bias, and it works independent.
Eg, i can run the iron disc/tone break all the way upto 10-11 and still hit a US nickle beside a nail, as it moves the nickle up the scale to about 15 rather than drag the ID down.
I know for every point on the Nox ID scale is probably equal to 2 or 3 on other units, so there will be variation.
But how does this compare with other relic machines, maybe folk on here with multiple units could try it out and comment?
