KT took the Royal Chariot and rode up to southern Indiana to attend a symposium last Tuesday, so was not in the Realm to pick up His Royal Boxes this past week. Arriving back at the Castle Sunday afternoon, and on Monday, His Highness drove to His Royal Bank and picked up the Royal Boxes of Halves. Arriving back at the Castle, He began ripping the rolls at 1:45 pm and completed the Hunt by 5:30 pm. A few breaks were taken for iced tea and Royal Hand Washing, as these coins are always filthy and leave a black residue on the Royal Finger Tips. A bit of dish soap and a scrubby pad readily remove it.
Anyway, The Royal CRH was decent this week, the results given below. Incidentally, a second hunt will be conducted on Thursday on the Royal Schedule, so His Followers will not have to wait long to see the results of that effort!
Now for the results:
Box 1 - 2 NIFCs, 1 lamination peel
Box 2 - 9 NIFCs
Box 3 - 1 40% Ag Ken, 1 NIFC
Box 4 - 7 NIFCs
Box 5 - 3 40% Ag Kens, ! NIFC
Total - 4 40% Ag Kens, 20 NIFCs (2 keepers), 1 lamination peel.
That lamination peel is the result of an improper seal of the laminated layers in the blank stock. Stamping of the coin loosened the obverse layer that partially peeled away during minting. If you look closely at the image, you will see two areas of peeling, one in the upper left hand quarter of the coin, and the other around 1 - 2 O'clock that reaches down into Kennedy's hair. KT likes error coins!
Enjoy the pics!
