I hit a school for about 25 minutes today but all the kids came to play soccer so I split. Found a bit of clad and a 1910 wheatie.

Decided I'd go around to a few farms I've been checking out and ask for permission. First farm I stopped I got the go ahead, but not until October 10th. Second farm, which I've been to before, nobody answered but I seem to set the alarm off. It happened the first time I was there too. Third farm I went to is one a very historic area around me. This guy has a TON of land. Really nice guy and said I can come down whenever I want and MD wherever I want. He also told me a couple guys come down there sometimes and MD. First thing I did was go to where they've been going.

I found not only two super deep holes with cans in them they didn't feel like taking out, but a ton of trash. If you're gonna MD, take the crap with you. After a while of not finding anything great but there left over crap, I got a nice deep hit and pulled out what I think is an old buckle. I was getting hot and tired so I figured I'd go up and down one more time and right as I was getting ready to head out I got a nice, deep signal. I figured the coin is a large cent, but I'm not sure. It looks a bit thin. I know it's old:yes: I have it soaking in olive oil now but I don't know if it's going to help.

The large cents are generally not thin... they are thicker than a quarter. Perhaps a foreign coin??? I know some of the french coins are thinner like that and have about the same size as a LC... British large pennys are thinner too. Sheesh man, you taking pictures in a cave???LOL shine some light on them goodies! Congrats on the finds!

George II and III coppers, as well as colonial coppers, are often thin, but we will need clearer pictures to make a guess at it.

I tried to take some better pictures. Next purchase is a nicer camera. This thing is a hunk of junk. The area this was found has been in use the 1600's.
