Hello from Reno, On the hunt for legible instructions on how to find which lands in this area are free to nugget shoot. So far a pretty vague understanding. Some places yes means no, no means yes. Seems to be up to the individual you talk to at the time your talking to them. Wheew! I've only just begun. :?:

Welcome from South Carolina !!!!

I did a quick search and many web sites came up, here are just a few, not sure how valid their info is, but you can compare info from different sites to see how it compares -

Welcome from Salinas, CA. There is a club in Reno, if I'm not mistaken. They may be primarily land hunters (beaches there @ Tahoe, parks, camps, etc...). But there might be some nugget hunters there too. I'm sure if you google around, you'll find their FB or web page, to find out where they meet monthly, etc...

Welcome from Honolulu. Hope your able to sort out the nugget access questions. If you do let us know. I'm intrested as I often visit my brudda who lives just over the border in Idaho.

With all that open land in and around the Reno area, it seems you could just head out and find some old tail piling and do some nugget shooting.
I am aware that all land is “owned” but I’m sure you can locate some old mining areas and do some detecting.
Good luck!

A little hint for ya, I lived in Stead NV, just north of Reno, and on the side of Pevine Mountain. There is a pond above the housing development that gold was dredged out of, I think the creek above and below the pond might prove interesting. Also there is an old mine entrance that is not too difficult to find, I have been inside but it is filled in after maybe 30 feet. it could be interesting. This was before I was into detecting.
