First bullets found!

Super excited to pull these from the ground. Because of the size I'm assuming pistol? Possibly .44 Colt Army?

Also found a couple round balls and a flattened bullet, maybe a 3 ringer?

And then what appears to be a bullet but not sure. Definitely a bullet-ish shaped chunk of lead. It was in the ground less than a foot away from the possible pistol bullet.

I also found what appears to be an old stirrup in the same area. Can anyone confirm and would this be CW or not?

the bullets look good! what camera are you using?

that last item could be a stirrup, there's few examples where it has the wire bottom but usually there is some kind of foot pad.

Cellphone...lol...LG V40. Not great for close up stuff but good enough. If I need great detail I'll break out the real camera and tripod.

Yeah...the area it was found in I believe was also farm land. It was right in my town on school property actually in a small field behind the school next to a cemetery. I'm actually surprised no one has called police on me yet or yelled at me thinking I was digging on cemetery property...lol...I made sure it was school property though before I even stepped foot on it with a detector. So maybe it's not a CW used stirrup if it even is one...maybe something that was used by a farmer or something.

Two more today, same field, about 75 yards away from the last ones and within a couple feet of each other....

Also found a chunk of iron that i need to clean but could possibly be a chunk of artillery...might be a stretch but from where i found it and the bullets I can see where some trenches and artillery piece were stationed on top of a mountain to protect the approach to the town.

Heading back today to work on it some more. It's a small field...maybe 2 acres. I need to organize and instead of wondering around swinging...start doing some sort of grid so I can get the whole field covered.
